This production of Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem is a collaborative concert presentation by Malmö Opera and Musik i Syd, staged as part of the Lund Choral Festival. The performance brings together the Malmö Operaorkester and Malmö Operakör, alongside an international quartet of soloists, to deliver Verdi's dramatic fusion of Latin funeral mass solemnity and operatic emotional intensity. The concert is hosted in the acoustically resonant Allhelgonakyrkan (All Saints Church) in Lund. The program honors the historical context of the work, which Verdi completed in 1874 to commemorate the death of Italian national poet Alessandro Manzoni, a figure Verdi deeply admired for his role in the Italian unification movement.
