Sivadier presents Othello as a drama focused on three principal figures: Othello, Desdemona, and Iago. The staging strips away romantic trappings to foreground this triangular dynamic. It highlights the comic mechanisms of the opening section as well as the tragedy driven by manipulation and jealousy. Iago is portrayed as an explicitly theatrical, Machiavellian figure who addresses the audience directly.
