The 1976 production of The Merry Wives of Windsor was staged as part of the Silver Jubilee (25th season) of Wexford Festival Opera. Directed by Patrick Libby and conducted by Leonard Hancock, the production featured set and costume designs by Adam Pollock and lighting design by Graham Large. Performances took place at Wexford’s historic Theatre Royal during the festival’s 20–31 October 1976 run. That season also included Verdi’s Giovanna d’Arco and Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, underscoring the festival’s hallmark of distinctive repertory and strong casts.
