The Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe presents a stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in a version by Mona vom Dahl. The music is by Philipp Muennich and Bastian Heidenreich. The production is directed by Stefanie Heiner with set design by Tilo Steffens; costumes and choreography are by Erika Hoppe. Musical preparation is by Philipp Muennich and dramaturgy by Jannika Erdmann. Recommended for ages 6 and up, the show runs about 1 hour 10 minutes without an interval. The premiere took place on 15 November 2026 in the Grosses Haus. Selected performances feature multilingual surtitles (including German), live German Sign Language interpretation by Deaf performers, audio description, and relaxed-performance (“Staatstheater entspannt”) options.
