Cendrillon was presented by Opera in Concert (now branded as Voicebox: Opera in Concert) as part of its 1988–1989 10th Anniversary season in Toronto. Founded in 1974 by Canadian accompanist, vocal coach, and producer Stuart Hamilton, the company focuses on rarely heard operas performed in concert or semi-staged format, without sets or costumes. The anniversary season also included Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, a 10th Anniversary Choral Concert, Mascagni’s L’amico Fritz, and Bellini’s Il pirata.
