Voice is an evening of contemporary dance that shifts the spotlight from the choreographer to the artists who embody the work. The production elevates the dancers as the true voice of the performance, focusing on who inhabits the steps rather than who created them. Through grounded presence and emotional depth, the company breathes life into a program that spans decades of dance history. A distinctive feature is the integration of MPD’s Archives Research Program: selected works have been carefully restored to preserve choreography threatened by video deterioration. The blend of historical preservation and bold new premieres reflects the company’s dynamic range and living practice.
