HELLO! AGAIN? is a newly created jukebox musical that pairs an original story with songs from Howard Carpendale’s catalogue. The book and concept are by Thomas Hermanns with Marian Lux; the world premiere took place on 2 November 2024 at Musikalische Komödie, Oper Leipzig. Carpendale’s well-known hits appear in freshly reworked arrangements and are woven into a narrative following a couple across several decades. Hans Kudlich’s set centers on a two-storey revolving house, both a flexible stage environment and a metaphor for time, while Aleksandra Kica’s costumes trace the passage of years. Direction is by author Thomas Hermanns with co-direction by Olivia Maria Schaaf; choreography is by Mirko Mahr. Music direction at the premiere was by Michael Nuendel, whose arrangements shape the pop material to dramatic beats. For the 2027 tour the creative team remains attached, with a touring ensemble and technical package adapted to major venues such as Festspielhaus Baden-Baden.
