Credo is a one-act dance drama by Szegedi Kortárs Balett (Szeged Contemporary Dance Company), created to mark choreographer-director Tamás Juronics’ 50th birthday. The work explores an artist’s struggle to face the hidden events in his family’s past. These long-concealed histories erect barriers in his creative life, complicate his romantic relationships, and fuel a wider search for God and meaning. Drawing on family letters and intimate stories, the staging evokes four generations across the 1920s, 1940s, 1970s, and today. The choreography weaves personal narratives of suffering into world history, posing universal questions about faith, memory, and generational trauma. Its movement language is described as precise and exciting, blending classical clarity with innovative contemporary expression.
