Simone Geyer’s staging is threaded by the image of murmuring starlings as a poetic counterpoint. Drawing from the text, the “paradox of starlings” with its formations, overlays, and tensions becomes the production’s guiding motif. This poetry is underlined by the use of water on stage, which literally permeates the figures and opens another interpretive layer. Scenes and text interlock like gears, generating a rhythm that pulses between present and past. Mona Marie Hartmann creates a stage of radical clarity: an almost empty, concrete-like space with clean lines that is atmospherically charged by light (Moritz Fettinger), video (Simone Geyer), and especially the ensemble’s performance. The music is by Moritz Krämer. The production refuses easy answers, opening spaces that invite audiences to confront the fault lines running through families, societies, and each individual.
