The opera ensemble of the South Bohemian Theatre continues its tradition of presenting world premieres of original Czech musical dramas with this concert performance of Jaroslav Krček's previously unstaged opera. The production is presented on Saint Wenceslas' Day in the historic Riding Hall of Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle (Zámecká jízdárna Hluboká nad Vltavou). The composer, a distinguished contemporary artist and native of České Budějovice, masterfully blends medieval musical traditions with a modern musical language to bring the historical tale to life. A unique aspect of this production is its philanthropic integration. The concert includes a charity event in cooperation with the Diocesan Caritas. From every ticket purchased, 50 CZK is donated to support the activities of the Diocesan Caritas of České Budějovice, which provides long-term assistance to seniors, families in difficult situations, people with disabilities, and the homeless.
