Léonora

About

The plot evolves between grotesque and dignity, tragicomic and sentimentality, between anger and forgiveness. During one last night, we discover Léonora at the bedside of her dying father. She watches and listens to this former captain of the hunters, an old man driven by difficult memories of the Algerian War. Between reminiscences of her father's childhood and her own, of the captain's failed marriage and her own solitude, Léonora remembers her sister Marina, her Italian mother, singer at the Comic Opera, her grandmother, aristocrat Parisian woman and their strange relationships. In the early morning she will meet a cousin, previously unknown, who will reveal the captain's laughable fabrications and his calculating villainy, just before he takes his last breath. The deep disappointment of Léonora, who had always loved her dad, will not prevent her from granting her forgiveness to the pathetic and paternal soldier in a final attempt at reconciliation, alas! late.
