Alain Platel brings together choir members, dancers, and orchestral musicians for a new production with human encounter at its heart. The shadow of a tree functions as a universal symbol of a place for rest, meeting, and reflection. In this shadow, people from different times and cultures come together. The production is a collaboration between choreographer Alain Platel and visual artist Berlinde De Bruyckere. It weaves dance, choral singing, and a new orchestral score by Steven Prengels, which blends classical masterworks by Handel, Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven with his own compositions. It is a co-production with laGeste.
