A cross-disciplinary staging between drama and music theatre for audiences aged ten and up. The sound worlds opened by composer Misha Cvijović in this chamber opera range between grand opera and minimalist musical storytelling. Together with Jan Sobrie’s libretto, they enable the audience to engage deeply—yet lightly—with themes that affect both the oldest and the youngest, albeit in very different ways. With this production, JUST (Junges Staatstheater) aims to open a sonic door to grand opera while employing the aesthetic means of contemporary children’s music theatre. The staging by Jens Bluhm is accompanied by theatre education and provides materials for preparation and follow-up.
