George Balanchine’s Serenade, set to music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, was presented by Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in 1985 as part of its “Ballets of the 20th Century” program. The choreography was staged for Warsaw by Patricia Neary. The production premiered on 22 June 1985 and was danced across several dates that year, with musical direction led by Bogdan Olędzki and Andrzej Straszyński. Surviving archival photographs document the premiere cast and staging.
