In The Enchanted Lake, Anatoly Lyadov freezes the dance of the stars on the water’s surface with music. This hypnotic soundscape leads into Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, brilliantly performed on the piano by Alexander Melnikov. The evening concludes with Prokofiev’s ultimate masterpiece, Symphony No. 7, under the direction of Grammy-winning conductor Christian Reif, making his debut with our orchestra.
