Zeitkapsel (Time Capsule) is a concert project that opens a dialogue between the medieval era and the present. Centered on Hildegard von Bingen’s legacy, the evening juxtaposes the sonorities of the 12th century with contemporary minimalism. With the unusual instrumentation of saxophone, lute, and percussion, the artists draw out resonances between Hildegard and the Cantigas de Santa Maria on the one hand, and the meditative, repetitive languages of modern composers on the other. Framed as the opening of a mysterious time capsule, the program invites audiences to listen across centuries and to rediscover medieval mysticism in a modern sound world.
