About

"Mantras" by Wim Henderickx is a ritualistic piece for soprano and electronics, originally composed in 2008. In this music the elements of nature were set to music and electronics play a leading role. Wim Henderickx developed an imaginary language and the soprano will have an open form in which she can freely process the evolution of the work. The composer commissioned Danae Bletsa to stage and perform a larger version of the piece in 2017, a version which was presented as a world premiere at a sold-out performance in Operadagen Rotterdam.
