“Affairs of the Heart” is a Mainstage Concert presented by Toronto Summer Music, featuring the festival’s Chamber Music Institute Mentors. The program brings together Jonathan Crow, Min-Jeong Koh, Rémi Pelletier, Efe Baltacıgil, and Philip Chiu in an intimate chamber setting at Walter Hall. The artistic focus is on interplay and chemistry among seasoned performers who also serve as pedagogues. The concert explores a wide emotional range—from Mozart’s theatrical dialogue to Shostakovich’s darkly humorous sonata and Brahms’s expansive, virtuosic quartet. The traditional chamber format uses Walter Hall’s acoustics to spotlight instrumental conversation and ensemble cohesion.
