Made in America was a symphonic concert in the FILM-HARMONY series at the Szczecin Philharmonic, celebrating the golden age of the American musical and its Broadway roots. It highlighted the genre’s 20th-century traditions and its 21st-century renaissance, emphasizing the fusion of opera-like vocal writing with popular entertainment styles. The program focused on standards by innovative composers such as Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin, who bridged classical composition and light entertainment. Performed by the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bassem Akiki with five vocal soloists, the concert brought a symphonic scale to iconic musical-theatre numbers. An accompanying exhibition, Niepokorność dalekich dróg | Zofia Rydet, was presented concurrently at the venue, though separate from the musical performance.
