Lamentations is the final installment of TENET Vocal Artists’ Tenebrae mini-series, designed as an intimate meditation for the Lenten season. The production concept centers on providing an escape from the bustling city environment by utilizing the candlelit ambiance of The Chapel at Brick Presbyterian Church. The performance begins with a quiet moment of meditation, setting a reflective tone before transitioning into the musical program. The artistic vision focuses on the darkness of winter and the preparation for the promise of spring, offering audiences a space to consider life’s struggles and new pathways forward. The staging is inherently minimalist, relying on the architectural intimacy of the chapel and the atmospheric use of candlelight to foster a space of calm where music and memory can flourish.
