Duck and Wolf is a contemporary sequel to Sergei Prokofiev’s beloved children’s classic Peter and the Wolf. Composed by Anno Schreier with a text by Alexander Jansen, the piece explores themes of friendship and reconciliation between long-time foes. Conceived as a family concert for children aged five and up, the Würzburg Philharmonic Orchestra brings the tale vividly to life. The production continues the story after the wolf’s capture, imagining a world where duck and wolf must work together. Emphasizing the transformative power of shared experience, the setting moves beyond the garden and forest into modern spaces such as the city and the highway.
