Olympe de Gouges fought tirelessly during her short life for the abolition of slavery and for women’s rights. She inspired composer Isabelle Aboulker and librettist Violaine Fournier to create an opera commissioned by the Conservatoire de Montauban and premiered there in 2017. It returns here in an expanded staged production that promises to surprise you. The performance features the Maîtrise de Radio France under the direction of Morgan Jourdain, with piano accompaniment by Bruno Perbost.
