The material from which the baroque opera: Jung 2022 is made is about the flexibility of an indomitable woman. The young Queen Alvilda from the island of Gotland no longer stays in her homeland, because she was promised to the Danish king Alfo against her will and then decides to exploit his fleet of ships as a corsair. To her chagrin, however, the buccaneering "dropout" is defeated by Alfo - first in a fight and then in love affairs. An inner struggle ensues, in which a sense of honor and a sense of status are victorious and Alfo finally lets Alvilda, whom he genuinely loves of course, embrace. A select selection of participants from the past 12th Cesti competition slip into the roles of Alvilda, Alfo and Co. The director is the singer, recorder player, playwright and actor Alberto Allegrezza, whose specialties include the musical comedy of the Renaissance and Baroque periods and who could be seen in Innsbruck 2019 as "Dirce" in the celebrated opera production "La Dori".
