The Campoamor Theater in Oviedo opens the 2022/2023 lyrical cycle with the world premiere of the opera La dama del alba by Luis Vázquez del Fresno. The Asturian composer has been, and continues to be, one of the most active and relevant composers on the Asturian music scene. His work covers practically all genres and travels through a multitude of aesthetic territories, from the adaptation and assimilation of folk material to indeterminate music. The libretto, also by the composer, is inspired by the play La dama del alba by Asturian writer Alejandro Casona. Rural drama in which love and the vital torrent struggle to prevail over pain and the snares of a seductive death.
