Juana

The project JUANA was commissioned by CIRM from choreographer Éric Oberdorff for an original creation by Argentine composer Analía Llugdar. It brings together contemporary music and dance in a close dialogue between a mixed score (acoustic instruments and electronic setup) and choreographic writing. On stage, seven women—three musicians and four dancers—move through a space of echoes, reflections, and overlays, where each figure named Juana multiplies like a broken mirror. Oberdorff’s scenography and choreography interweave with Llugdar’s score to explore memory, identity, and time. The performance shapes an open terrain in which elements intersect, fade, and recombine like images or recollections.
