"A Sweet Silence in Cremona" is a one-act opera buffa commissioned by NYU Florence and NYU-Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò. It features music by Roberto Scarcella Perino and an original libretto by Mark Campbell. The production is co-produced by Teatro Ponchielli di Cremona and the Center for Contemporary Opera in New York. The performance at CONTINUUM THEATER in Florence on June 29, 2022, was preceded by a conversation about the making of the opera, involving librettist Mark Campbell, musicologist Donatella Righini, and Stefano Albertini, Director of NYU-Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, moderated by Larry Wolff, Co-Director of NYU Florence.
