This production of "Normandie" was staged at the Grand Théâtre de Tours during the 1936–1937 season. The operetta, which originally premiered at the Bouffes-Parisiens in October 1936, was a contemporary musical comedy set aboard the famous ocean liner of the same name. The Tours production featured a slight structural variation, being presented in two acts and 12 tableaux, as opposed to the 11 tableaux noted in its Paris premiere. The musical direction for this regional staging was led by M. Melein.
