Oper Leipzig presents a new staging of Marius Felix Lange’s chamber opera on the revolving stage of the opera house (Drehbühne Opernhaus). Directed by Marlene Hahn with sets by Dirk Becker and musical direction by Sebastian Camaño Saavedra, the production features the Gewandhausorchester. Based on Janne Teller’s text with poetic interludes by Nora Gomringer, the work is scored for two singing voices and string quartet and is programmed under Junge Oper Leipzig for audiences aged 14+. Originally commissioned by Junge Oper Stuttgart in 2018, the piece has appeared at several German-speaking houses; Leipzig now unveils a distinct, intimate production focused on a family’s experience amid conflict. Performances include morning school shows and evening dates for the general public.
