The Desert Song

The Fort Worth Civic Opera Association presented The Desert Song as a special collaboration with the Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show. Scheduling the operetta alongside the rodeo and exposition at the adjacent Coliseum allowed the company to draw from the large visitor base attending the stock show. To maximize accessibility for these diverse audiences, the operetta was performed entirely in English. All performances were staged at the Will Rogers Memorial Auditorium, located directly next to the Coliseum, encouraging crossover attendance between the two major events.
