Opera from the beginning: »Keep your fingers crossed, eyes closed. Very tight. And then you say: Killevips!« Because mom and dad always have to work, Bertil is often alone at home. It's terribly boring – until one day he hears a knock. This is how Bertil made the acquaintance of Nils Karlsson Däumling, called Nisse. Nisse is as big as a thumb and lives in a mouse hole in Bertil's basement. He invites Bertil to visit him once, but there's still the problem of the size difference! Luckily, Nisse knows what to do and soon the two friends are inseparable... The children's opera ›Nils Karlsson Däumling‹ is a commissioned composition based on Astrid Lindgren's story of the same name. The friendship between Bertil and Nisse is magical in many ways: they communicate through sounds, find a magic spell and thus overcome the hurdle of their size difference together. The story takes big and small viewers from the age of 3 into a wonderful world of childlike imagination.
