Les Châtiments

Kafka planned to gather three texts published during his lifetime under the heading The Punishments: The Judgment, The Metamorphosis, and In the Penal Colony. For this world-premiere commission from the Opéra de Dijon, composer Brice Pauset set these three stories to music. Conducted by Emilio Pomarico and staged by David Lescot, Les Châtiments immerses audiences in Kafka’s universe through music and theatre. The project required three years of work from the composer and nearly two years from the stage director. It is a world premiere made in Dijon.
