North State Symphony’s Billy the Kid program brings Copland’s vivid Suite from Billy the Kid alongside Gabriela Lena Frank’s Three Latin American Dances, the Adagio from Elgar’s Cello Concerto, Gounod’s sparkling aria Je veux vivre from Roméo et Juliette, and Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances. Music Director Scott Seaton conducts, with Young Artist winners soprano Erin Elizabeth Van Mol and cellist JJ Tiefenbach featured. The Polovtsian Dances are performed side-by-side with the Butte MTAC Youth Orchestra and Shasta College Chamber Strings.
