The monumental historical drama is not only a celebration of the glorious Slavic past, but also a convincing musical drama with an interesting inner world of the main characters. Ruler Svätopluk has a dilemma in front of him: stand up for a new Christian future or give in to the pagans, follow Rastislav's legacy or hold on to power at all costs? Its interior is also plagued by the personal drama of the monarch, who committed grave moral offenses on the way to power. Reconciliation with God and one's own conscience comes as the culmination of the drama at the end in the form of prophetic monarchical wisdom and benevolence. However, the new production by director Roman Polák also opens up topics that are being dealt with by contemporary society. Will we stand up for freedom and a sustainable future, or will we give in to those who can't see even a few steps ahead?
