A contemporary music program focused on Nordic creation and on the collaboration between Ensemble Recherche (Freiburg) and composer/arranger Brice Pauset. The concert juxtaposes new and reworked materials: Pauset’s Ljusare (for flute and piano), two Purcell In nomines presented/arranged by Pauset, and Schwarzmärkte (Parts I and II) given in their world premiere. The evening closes with Hans Abrahamsen’s Schnee (2006), a cycle of ten canons for nine instruments. The program highlights aesthetic threads—repetition, recognition, and processes of ordering/forgetting—central to Schwarzmärkte, and situates the whole within a broader season-long survey of Nordic contemporary music.
