Laika is a contemporary dance piece conceived and directed by Isabel Vázquez. The production interrogates social norms and the concept of normality as a statistical and cultural construct; it frames otherness and nonconformity as human values. The staging integrates live performance with recorded/filmic media (video: La Buena Estrella) and an audio/voice component (narration by Diana Noriega and offstage voice by Arturo Trujillo). Music by Santi Martínez and Javier Centeno suggests an original sound design woven into the choreography. Presented as part of a double bill with Sharon Fridman’s 147 abrazos, it was performed outdoors in the FAM 2021 programme at Auditorio de Tenerife. The credits indicate a compact ensemble and dramaturgical collaboration, blending movement, spoken text, and recorded sound/video elements.
