King of Hearts

The 1956 production of "King of Hearts" was staged by La Jolla Playhouse during its early years when the company operated out of the La Jolla High School auditorium. The production was directed by David Orrick, with set and lighting design by John Blankenship. The cast was led by noted Hollywood actor Jackie Cooper, continuing the Playhouse's tradition of bringing established film and stage stars to San Diego for short-run summer stock seasons. The ensemble also featured Patricia Breslin, Dan Tobin, Theodore Newton, Lillian Randolph, Dicki Bellis, Michael Winkelman, and Ch. Blue Baron, Jr.
