JOB is presented by the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre as a 2027 opera production directed for the stage by Jiří Nekvasil. The production uses Michael Sturminger's operatic adaptation of Joseph Roth's novel and is performed in a new Czech translation. The Czech version was initiated by Bernhard Lang. The musical concept combines elements of klezmer tradition and jazz with contemporary musical language. The score also uses cyclical loops identified with Lang's compositional style. These elements frame the story's movement between a Jewish family experience, migration, persecution, and the biblical model of Job. The design team comprises David Bazika for set design, Marta Roszkopfová for costumes, Juraj Bajús for dramaturgy, and Pavel Drábek for the Czech poetic translation. Marek Šedivý is credited as music director and conductor, and Jiří Nekvasil as stage director.
