Milena Michalek’s staging is based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel and an additional text by Clara Kroneck. The production focuses on Prince Myshkin, an embodiment of compassion and sincerity who enters a society driven by ego and passion. The wide stage of the Main House is used to underline both isolation and intense interaction among the characters. The artistic concept integrates video by Grigory Shklyar and scenic design by Robin Metzer to translate the source’s psychological depth into a contemporary theatrical language. Costumes by Charlotte Pistorius support character development in a tension field between classic material and modern interpretation.
