This children’s comic opera approaches the taboo topics of life’s end and death with empathy and humor, offering children aged 5+ an artistic way into big questions. Director Luisa Foki-Koepp collaborates closely with the puppet-theatre division of Landesbühnen Sachsen, interweaving live performers and figure work. Claudine Walter’s set and costume design create a poetic, multilayered visual world. Under the musical direction of Uwe Zimmermann, a chamber ensemble of accordion, double bass, and percussion gives the production its intimate sound palette.
