What would happen if a prankster chamberlain reversed the arrows (and therefore the powers) of Cupid - the god of Love - and Death? Presentation This is the starting point of Cupid & Death , a sumptuous entertainment of frenetic pace and unbridled humor, against a backdrop of baroque music performed by the Correspondances ensemble conducted by Sébastien Daucé and a first-class cast. A rare and unclassifiable gem ( a 17th century English "mask" , precursor of opera) which lends itself perfectly to the modern reinterpretation of the tandem of directors Jos Houben & Emily Wilson and which mixes comedy with burlesque and poetry , music and dance. Originally from Rennes, Sébastien Daucé at the head of the Correspondances ensemble has asserted himself for the past ten years as one of the greatest pioneers of musical theater from the Baroque era.
