Puppets and singers take on Pagliardi’s baroque opera to tell the story of a mad lover who dreams of conquering the Moon. Traditional Sicilian pupi are manipulated live on stage, creating a poetic dialogue between voices and wooden figures. The staging is co-directed by Alexandra Rübner and master puppeteer Mimmo Cuticchio, who also designed and crafted the puppets in his Palermo workshop. The visual world is enriched by hand-painted backdrops by Isaure de Beauval.
