For the first time since the former Efeuhof was reopened under its new name, Behr-Halle, this central Würzburg venue becomes a theatre space again. Tim Egloff’s production harnesses the hall’s special atmosphere to bring to life the dark yet whimsical world of the Freischütz legend. Nicole Zielke’s design supports the vivid realization of this colorful musical spectacle. Musically, a six-piece band led by Adrian Sieber carries the show, interpreting Tom Waits’s distinctive, rattling, and dragging songs. The production stands out for the playful verve of its young ensemble, with each performer finding their own approach to the musical numbers.
