A new Teatro Regio di Parma production directed by Pier Francesco Maestrini and conducted by Andrea Battistoni, this Attila adapts Verdi’s early opera to the intimate Teatro Verdi di Busseto. With the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Regio di Parma, the staging uses video projections (by Alfredo Troisi/Emmedue) to expand the visual world—suggesting the battlefield, the flight from Aquileia, Attila’s tent, and forest scenes—while keeping physical sets minimal (sets and costumes by Carlo Savi). Bruno Ciulli’s lighting complements the multimedia approach. Technical teams and workshops (including Casa d’Arte Fiore for costumes) support the compact venue’s needs. The production’s visual strategy, widely noted in reviews and the later C Major/Naxos video release, turns Busseto’s limitations into a distinctive aesthetic, with a running time of approximately 118 minutes for the opera. It is a Festival Verdi project identified as a new staging by Teatro Regio di Parma.
