This staging of Arlecchino finto morto is a two-act comic opera directed by the composer himself, Aldo Tarabella, with scenic design by Patrizia Mugnai. The production is a joint venture produced by Compagnia Sperimentale 'Opera Bazar' and Associazione 'Contempoartensemble', presented at the Teatro Comunale di Modena. The directorial concept places classic commedia dell'arte characters in a contemporary, pseudo-scientific environment. The performance uses the instrumental ensemble Contempoartensemble, conducted by Mauro Ceccanti, instead of a full traditional orchestra, highlighting physical comedy, disguises, and the contrast of a wooden puppet character with modern medical and scientific tropes.
