To secure the future of their children, Jason wants to marry the daughter of Creon, the king of Corinth, after ten years. The deeply offended Medea gruesomely settles the Corinthian princess and kills her own sons.De Veenfabriek and Muziektheater Transparant present a contemporary adaptation of this evocative myth.The text by Peter Verhelst tells the old myth from the perspective of a retrospective Creon. Paul Koek directs the ensemble, which sits on a straight line like a Turkish orchestra. From this concert setting, the actors play four monologues. The text fragments are woven into Wim Henderickx's new composition, while the singer's lament is heard.
