Festival favourites Cór Linn and Cór na nÓg – the youth choirs of the National Concert Hall – return to the main stage for this poignant yet uplifting concert of works by Craig Hella Johnson and Elaine Agnew. ​ Performed here in its Irish premiere, Craig Hella Johnson’s Considering Matthew Shepard was composed to celebrate the life of a young man cut short by hate and violence. Drawing on a wide range of styles and poetic texts, including passages from Matt’s personal journal, it is a soulful work of hope and forgiveness. Paired with renowned Irish composer Elaine Agnew’s heartfelt short pieces We Are What Gives Us Strength, this promises to be a thoughtful and optimistic performance showcasing the very best of youth music-making. ​
