The Snow Queen

This production marks the French premiere of The Snow Queen by the Ballet of the National Opera of Ukraine. The work is a ballet in two acts, featuring a libretto and choreography by Aniko Rekhviashvili and Oleksiy Baklan. The musical score is a unique arrangement by Baklan and Viktor Ishchuk, drawing from the classical repertoire of composers such as Grieg, Massenet, Offenbach, J. Strauss, and Berlioz. The staging features set designs by Stanislav Petrovskyi and costumes by Natalia Kucheria, aiming to bring Andersen’s fairy tale to life through a traditional yet fresh aesthetic. The production is a co-realization between the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Productions Internationales Albert Sarfati, showcasing the technical prowess and narrative depth of the Ukrainian National Ballet.
