The Mikado

About

Delaware Valley Opera Company presented Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado as part of its 2017 season, with four fully staged performances at the Delaware Valley Opera Center in Lake Huntington, NY (Aug 12–13 and 19–20; Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm). The cast featured principals in the classic Savoy roles, supported by chorus and a chamber approach led from the keyboard. Music direction and piano were by Violetta Zabbi, with staging by Carol Castel. Production staff included an assistant stage director, chorus master, rehearsal pianist, and dedicated props and costume leads. No special concept beyond a traditional, comic-opera treatment was indicated on the archive page.
