About this event

This is a single-artist classical concert centered on pianist Mari Kumamoto at Suntory Hall's Blue Rose (Small Hall). The program combines Bach keyboard repertoire, Liszt solo works, Schumann in Liszt transcription, Spanish repertoire by Falla and Cervantes, and a piano version of Akira Saegusa's "Tengai." The event celebrates Kumamoto's 40th anniversary of her debut. It also connects the program with commemorative contexts including Liszt's birthday, Falla's 150th anniversary, and Saegusa's 60 years of activity. The presentation is a solo piano recital with no staging, orchestra, chorus, conductor, scenic design, costumes, or dramatic action identified.
