About this event
The "Concerto di Natale" (Christmas Concert) is the traditional annual free public concert of the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, staged inside the Basilica del Santo in Padua. The 2026 edition is dedicated to the sacred and vocal music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, combining orchestral and sacred-choral repertoire. The programme opens with two purely orchestral pieces — the Sinfonia from the sacred singspiel "Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots" K 35 and Symphony No. 33 in B-flat major K 319 — and concludes with two of Mozart's most celebrated sacred soprano works: "Laudamus Te" from the Mass in C minor K 427, and the virtuoso motet "Exsultate, jubilate" K 165. The concert is conducted by harpsichordist and conductor Luca Guglielmi, with soprano Jiayu Jin as soloist. Supported by Fondazione Cariparo.
